Our organic makeup pads are a simple alternative to disposable cotton. Pair them with your usual facial cleanser or makeup remover.
We make our pads in South Wales. The printed fabric is hand woven and printed by a family in Kerala. The print is based on a vintage pattern and the fabric is 60% organic cotton and 40% bamboo. The soft side of our pads is 100% organic cotton velvet. I've made sure our fabrics are plastic-free and that the thread and labels we use are also organic.
When you choose reusable makeup pads, this biggest impact you're having is reducing your water and pesticides footprint. Growing cotton takes a lot of resources, so it doesn't make sense to use it just once!
To use a makeup pad, wet it and apply your product to it. Use it similarly to how you'd use cotton wool. Makeup pads are extra absorbent so wetting them first helps prevent them from absorbing your product. Make sure to wash your pads regularly.
Choose from our floral or sails fabrics and a white or navy underside. Choose white if you're planning to apply cream or cleanse your face with your pads. Navy is good if you want to remove makeup like mascara. Or, you can choose a mix of all our fabrics.
At the moment we're experimenting with our makeup pad design so your thread colour might vary. We also have some functional, but imperfect makeup pads available if you'd like to save a little.
Our makeup pads come in packs of 5, tied together with organic string and a recycled paper label. Each measures about 7cm in diameter, and may vary slightly in shape due to the handmade nature of the product. Please expect some shrinkage when you first wash your makeup pads (up to 10%). Machine wash under 30 degrees inside a bag or a sock to keep them together.
